9/23/2009 Subway and life
I squash myself every day to fit in the Beijing Subway that carries me to work from where I live. Every morning, while I am on the crowded line one, like most of the other people, I look outside of the window. I see a completed different situation on the opposite line. There are a few people sitting on the chair in the subway, with regular seats available, looking relaxed… I believe that other people with me on line one also see this picture every morning. What do they think? ...Do they really envy the people on the other side? Would it possible for them to join the other side with the sacrifice of the direction?
Most of the people have similar value which leads most of us heading for the same direction, just like the direction of line one, making all crowded. While a few people choose for another line, completely different or even opposite direction so they can enjoy the space and relaxed mood…
Wait a moment; people on both sides are still within the subway! It doesn’t really make a difference since you are in the cave, no matter how beautiful it decorates. So even we changed our direction, which is the first step towards good, but still we are not out of the box! If we want to make a real change, if we really want to lead a better life, it is not merely change for another direction but we need to get out of the underground! However, this depends on the choice we make. It is the choice that we make leads us to the place where we are and where we want to be...
